What to Expect

Medical Consultation

Your journey starts with a thorough consultation. We’ll take the time to understand your condition, review any past treatments or test results, and consider any risk factors.

From there, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan that’s tailored to your goals, lifestyle, and timeline—so you can move forward with confidence.

Ultrasound-Guided Injections

Some injuries or conditions respond best to targeted treatments delivered right to the source of pain. Using ultrasound guidance, we can precisely inject treatments into joints, tendons, or soft tissue.

These May Include:

These treatments are always part of a bigger plan aimed at reducing pain, improving function, and supporting long-term recovery.

The Lab Services

The Lab Services Include:

Thorough evaluation of acute and chronic injuries by our sports medicine physician to determine the root cause and guide the best course of treatment.
Direct access to advanced imaging when needed to confirm diagnoses, rule out structural issues, and speed up the recovery process.
Precise, image-guided injections including PRP, cortisone, hyaluronic acid, and fenestration to reduce pain, improve function, and accelerate healing.

PRP uses a concentrated sample of your own blood, rich in healing platelets and growth factors, to stimulate tissue repair in injured muscles, tendons, and joints. Promotes natural healing without steroids or surgery.

Commonly used for:

  • Chronic tendinopathies (e.g. patellar, Achilles, tennis elbow)
  • Mild-to-moderate joint arthritis
  • Muscle tears and ligament sprains

Cortisone is a powerful anti-inflammatory medication used to quickly reduce pain and swelling in joints or around tendons. Provides rapid relief to keep them training or competing — often used short-term or to support rehab progression.

  • Commonly used for:

    • Joint inflammation (e.g. shoulder, knee, ankle)

    • Bursitis

    • Severe tendinopathies causing pain that limits rehab

This gel-like substance mimics the natural fluid in your joints, helping to lubricate and cushion cartilage — often used for arthritic or “grindy” joints. Reduces joint friction and discomfort without affecting tissue structure — often used as a longer-term solution than cortisone.

  • Commonly used for:

    • Knee osteoarthritis

    • Joint wear-and-tear in high-impact athletes

Fenestration involves using a fine needle to make controlled micro-injuries in a chronically damaged tendon to stimulate a healing response. Targets stubborn tendon issues with precision — often paired with PRP for best results.

  • Commonly used for:

    • Chronic tendinopathies that haven’t responded to loading

    • Thickened or degenerative tendon tissue (e.g. Achilles, patellar, gluteal)

Comprehensive medical clearance for athletes post-injury, ensuring they meet the physical and functional benchmarks for a safe return to competition.

Expert concussion evaluation, management, and return-to-play protocols following the latest sport medicine guidelines to protect short- and long-term brain health.
Access to high-quality, sport-specific bracing solutions for joint protection, injury recovery, and enhanced stability during training or gameplay.

Riley Dane

RMT, Hons. BA Kin

I started out in this field because I was inspired by the care and sports rehab that I received when I was an athlete. From competitive gymnastics to soccer to varsity track and field, I’ve been in and out of my fair share of clinics!

I have a passion for helping people return to doing what they love. Whether that be sports, recreational activity, or returning to a pain-free everyday life. I want to work as a team with each individual to create a treatment that fits their mental and physical needs. I believe that exercise and activity is an essential component of wellbeing and want my clients to be able to engage in these activities without compromise.

Education-wise I went to Western (GO STANGS!) for my undergrad, earning a Honours Bachelor of Arts with Specialization in Kinesiology and followed that with a Diploma of Massage Therapy from Sutherland-Chan.

In my spare time, I like to lift weights, read, play volleyball and spend time with family. I’m a huge sports fan, especially the Leafs, Raps and Jays!
