Osteopathic Care That Restores Balance, Movement & Function

Osteopathic manual therapy at The LAB is a manual therapy approach designed to support your body’s natural ability to heal and regulate itself. By focusing on how structure affects function, our osteopathic manual practitioners address the root causes of pain, restriction, and dysfunction. Not just the symptoms.

Using hands-on techniques rooted in functional anatomy, we work with the body’s systems (bones, muscles, fascia, organs, and fluid pathways) to restore optimal alignment and movement. Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, postural imbalances, or sport-specific stress, our goal is to help your body work better as a whole.

What Makes Osteopathic Therapy at The LAB Different

Our osteopathic therapy sessions are backed by a sports-minded, team-based environment. Many of our practitioners have athletic backgrounds and understand firsthand the urgency of returning to movement, sport, and an active life.

Once we’ve helped restore mobility and reduce tension, we don’t stop there. At The LAB, osteopathy is integrated into a broader recovery and performance strategy. We can guide you toward physiotherapy or personal training as the next step in your care, so you’re not just feeling better, but moving better for the long haul.

We also invest in specialized equipment to ensure your experience is exceptional. Our advanced treatment tables are designed for patient comfort and allow for the application of precise, effective techniques. It’s care that feels good and works hard for your body.

What Is Osteopathy?

Osteopathic therapy is a science-based manual therapy that focuses on aligning the body’s structure, including muscles, joints, fascia, ligaments, and organs, to improve function and support the body’s natural healing mechanisms.

Osteopathic Manual Practitioners don’t see themselves as healers, but as facilitators of health. By using hands-on techniques to optimize how the nervous, circulatory, and lymphatic systems function (often referred to as NAVL: nerves, arteries, veins, and lymphatics), we create the conditions for your body to restore balance and perform at its best.

I’ve been exposed to and seen a lot of chiros throughout my time as a professional athlete. I can honestly say that the team at The Lab is not only the best in the biz when it comes to knowledge and treatment, but who they are as people and the relationships they build with their clients is unmatched. They’ve been a game changer

Rowen da Fonseca

(Manual Osteopathic Therapist)

M.OMSc, BSc (Hons)

Rowen is a graduate from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and has earned in Masters Diploma in Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences. He is now a professional member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association. Rowen studied his undergraduate at York University where he completed his degree majoring in Kinesiology and minoring in Psychology. He then went on to do his certification as a Personal Trainer. After spending time in the health and wellness field, he became fascinated by body’s inherent ability to heal. While searching for a more in-depth understanding of the human body, Rowen came across classical Osteopathy. After receiving his first osteopathic treatment Rowen knew he had found his calling in classical Osteopathy. Human anatomy and physiology had always been his core strengths but osteopathy made him realize that the body truly is a dynamic unit of function. This understanding of “functional anatomy” is an ongoing lifetime study which treats each person as a unique individual. His practice therefore is based on customizing a unique treatment plan for each patient, as no one person is the same as the next.

Andrew is a graduate of the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, with a Masters Diploma in Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences.  Prior to his Osteopathic education, Andrew graduated McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, earning a spot on the Dean’s Honours List.  Andrew is constantly involved in furthering his knowledge and skills, partaking in workshops and seminars to be able to provide the best care for his patients.

Riley Dane

(Registered Massage Therapist)

RMT, Hons. BA Kin

I started out in this field because I was inspired by the care and sports rehab that I received when I was an athlete. From competitive gymnastics to soccer to varsity track and field, I’ve been in and out of my fair share of clinics!

I have a passion for helping people return to doing what they love. Whether that be sports, recreational activity, or returning to a pain-free everyday life. I want to work as a team with each individual to create a treatment that fits their mental and physical needs. I believe that exercise and activity is an essential component of wellbeing and want my clients to be able to engage in these activities without compromise.

Education-wise I went to Western (GO STANGS!) for my undergrad, earning a Honours Bachelor of Arts with Specialization in Kinesiology and followed that with a Diploma of Massage Therapy from Sutherland-Chan.

In my spare time, I like to lift weights, read, play volleyball and spend time with family. I’m a huge sports fan, especially the Leafs, Raps and Jays!
